Problem Statement
In our bustling city, finding and enjoying delicious baked goods from diverse local bakeries should be a delightful experience. However, the absence of a comprehensive and user-friendly platform for bakery product discovery and customization leaves consumers frustrated and bakeries struggling to reach their full potential. This gap in the market calls for the development of a specialized bakery app that addresses the following key issues:
Our Goal
Our bakery app will let users to make plans for when to receive their orders which will affect users how have busy life schedule by letting users skip the in-store order line and saving them time we will measure effectiveness by tracking orders to the location chosen by the users at the time specified by them.
Pain Points
1. Limited Product Information: Customers often lack crucial information about bakery products, including baking time, calorie content, taste descriptions, and dietary labels. This information gap hampers their ability to make informed choices, especially when catering to specific dietary requirements like gluten-free or vegan.
2. Scattered Bakery Options: Locating and exploring the wide array of bakeries in the city is a time-consuming task. Without a centralized platform, customers find it challenging to discover new bakeries and their unique offerings.
3. Lack of Customization: Traditional ordering methods often do not offer customers the flexibility to customize their orders to match their exact preferences. This leaves them dissatisfied with standard options and unable to fulfill special cravings for customized cakes with unique designs, fillings, and fruits.
4. Missed Offers and Discounts: Customers miss out on bakery promotions and discounts because they are unaware of ongoing deals and offers from different bakeries.
5. Inefficient Ordering Process: The current ordering process may be cumbersome and less efficient. Customers may struggle with placing orders, specifying delivery or pickup preferences, and tracking their orders in real-time.
6. Disconnected Bakery Management: Bakeries face challenges in reaching a broader customer base and effectively managing orders, especially custom requests. This often leads to missed opportunities for business growth.
Our Solutions
1. Online Application Platform: We aim to bridge this gap with our bakery app, providing a seamless platform where users can effortlessly browse an extensive selection of bakery products. They will have access to detailed product information, making it easier to choose items that align with their tastes and dietary needs. Moreover, they can customize orders, including designing special cakes, selecting fillings, and adding fruits, ensuring a personalized bakery experience.
2. Digital Storefront: On the bakery side, our app offers bakeries a digital storefront to showcase their unique products, manage orders efficiently, and reach a wider audience. Additionally, our platform will notify users about bakery promotions and discounts, enhancing both user experience and bakery sales.
3. Revolutionize: Our bakery app aims to revolutionize the way customers discover, order, and enjoy bakery products in the city, making it a win-win solution for both consumers and bakeries alike.

Usability Testing
I conducted two round of usability studies. Finding from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining. Here you can see one of our findings:
The location button of the app confused users. Users did not understand what is the icon about and what capabilities this button has. For this reason, I put title for location icon so users can find it more easily.

Accessibility Considerations
Provided access to users who are vision impaired through adding alt text to images for screen readers
Used icons to help make navigation easier
Used detailed imagery for products and toppings to help all users better understand the design

The app makes users feel satisfied. They save time and they can spend more time with their families while eating fresh products.
One quote from feedbacks:
I think it seems very useful. I can get my cake made to my own taste and I don't have to go to a bakery. The fact that I am able to choose the flavor of cake and fruits as well as the design of the cake from the bakery of my choosing and receive it fresh at my home makes me happy.
What I learned:
While designing Bake My Day app, I learned that the first idea for the app are only the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.
